UNISON West Sussex branch represents members working for West Sussex County Council and related employers,

The virtual branch went live to its membership on 13.10.09 and took part in the early assessment and enhancement ofthe software

SInce going live the branch has increased number of members it has email addresses for from 21% to over 50% This has meant that the circulation of the branch magazine is now more efficient,  with reduced cost and time commitment, and that over half the membership can be reached directly by email for any communication. Furthermore literature sent out in paper form can be displayed and discussed on the website.

After the intial period, when all 12 sites went live, the West Sussex site began to grow in use. Currently the site is visited by numbers that equate to 11-12% of the mebership each month, of which 6-7% are known to be members.

The West Sussex branch have set up their branch office processes to integrate use of the website and maintain it on a day to day basis. The website is used to disseminate information, run consultations and promote the branch and union to the membership.
